Our Partners

Our key strategies promote and support positive engagement with other NGOs and members of civil society from around the region, fostering a more coordinated campaign against the death penalty.  This approach provides practical ways to make the work that is already being done more effective.

In 2018, CPJP commenced a partnership with Monash University’s Law Faculty and launched Eleos Justice.  Eleos Justice is the Asia-Pacific region's leading academic hub for evidence-based research, policy and clinical casework devoted to restricting and abolishing the death penalty. The Eleos Anti-Death Penalty Clinic trains law students in capital defence casework, advocacy and policy across the region.

CPJP is a member of the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty, and the Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network (ADPAN).

  • Eleos Justice is a collaboration between Capital Punishment Justice Project, an NGO working to end the death penalty, and the Faculty of Law at Monash University.

  • Savage Films is an Australian production company established by Maggie Miles. The company develops and produces a diverse array of screen content, and has a passion for social impact stories.

  • The Julian Wagner Memorial Fund was established in 2016 to perpetuate the memory of Julian Wagner, Brisbane barrister and campaigner against the death penalty. Its primary purpose is to promote worldwide abolition of the death penalty, focusing on education, human rights and promoting or opposing changes to law, policies or practices.

  • Australians Against Capital Punishment is a community group formed in early 2007 to advocate for a total abolition of the death penalty across the globe, and to call on the Australian Government to again commit itself wholeheartedly to opposing the death penalty in all cases and in all countries.

  • Bertha Foundation fights for a more just world. It supports activists, storytellers, and lawyers who are working to bring about social and economic justice and human rights for all.

  • Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network (ADPAN) is a regional network of organisations and individuals committed to working towards abolition of the death penalty in the Asia-Pacific. ADPAN’s role is to create wider societal support for abolition of the death penalty in the Asia-Pacific region through advocacy, education and network building.

  • Ensemble contre la peine de mort (ECPM) unites / rallies and supports actions taken to fight against the death penalty worldwide, promoting universal abolition and, more broadly, the respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

  • World Coalition Against the Death Penalty (WCADP) is an international network comprised of more than 165 organisations from civil society with representation from over 45 countries.

  • Forage is an online platform that provides access to free virtual work experience programs. Forage and CPJP have partnered to create a virtual experience program that brings to life our mission and allows participants to experience “a day in the life” of a CPJP volunteer, building skills in research, advocacy and policy.
